Slot Processor Scrap Gold

Slot Processor Scrap Gold: In the world of professional e-waste refining, few items are as iconic or as potentially profitable as Slot Processors. Unlike the small square chips we see today, the Pentium II, Pentium III, and AMD Athlon processors of the late 90s were designed as large cartridges that plugged into “Slot 1” or “Slot A” motherboards. At Golden Scrap Yard, based in Dallas, Texas, we have secured a premium stock of these vintage units, specifically graded for high-yield precious metal recovery.

Why Slot Processors are a Refiner’s Favorite What makes the Pentium II / III and early Athlon scrap so valuable isn’t just the CPU chip itself, but the entire architecture of the cartridge. Each unit contains a high-grade circuit board (PCB) populated with multiple surface-mount components, high-quality capacitors, and, most importantly, a thick gold-fingered edge connector. These gold fingers are a primary source of high-purity gold during the chemical refining process. Additionally, the internal IC chips often feature significant gold bonding wires, making these cartridges much more lucrative than standard green fiber scrap.

Expertly Graded for Maximum ROI At Golden Scrap Yard, we don’t believe in “mystery boxes.” Our Slot Processor scrap is meticulously sorted to ensure you are getting the heavy-hitting vintage cartridges known for their metal content. We filter out lower-grade plastic components to ensure that your refining lot is dense with the boards and processors that actually drive your profit margins.
